Happening April 28-30, 2024 in Memphis, TN, this conference gathers global business leaders and CSR practitioners--the people who are collectively defining and redefining what it means to be a socially responsible business.
Accelerate success together
The following is excerpted from Issue 26 of The Corporate Citizen.
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." – Andrew Carnegie
As corporate citizenship professionals, you are visioneers and mobilizers. You carry and communicate the vision of how the resources of your business can be applied to solve social and environmental challenges. You connect with partners in your communities to achieve shared goals. You mobilize your colleagues across departments toward a common purpose. You have inspired colleagues and partners to launch ambitious programs with small budgets, to initiate major philanthropic programs, and to contribute to global movements such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. Your work is characterized by big-picture, long-term thinking; cooperation; and purposefulness.
For more than 30 years we, at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, have witnessed the incredible results that are achieved when corporate citizenship professionals come together to share, learn, and grow from one another. We are amazed consistently by how generously our mem-bers offer what they have learned to others. It is our shared purpose of using the assets of business to solve social and environmental problems that drives this collaboration.
Now companies are joining forces—with nonprofit partners, within their companies, and even with other firms—to achieve sustainable change. The team at the Center is proud to offer resources and facilitate networking to help achieve your purpose.
These resources provide expert insights and proven tactics; they connect you with a cohort of peers who, as Andrew Carnegie said, can help you attain uncommon results. As one of history’s most successful businessmen AND leading philanthropists, Carnegie identified what corporate citizenship professionals know absolutely: The right people motivated by the right purpose will achieve tremendous progress.
