Case Study from Texas Instruments Incorporated
Growth from STEM: Creating opportunities for kids to learn and thrive
MONDAY, MAY 1 | 10:45 - 11:45 am
Often, corporate citizenship work is most powerful when done as part of a larger coalition of organizations coming together to make change. However, building coalitions of support is not easy and requires strategic thinking and approaches. For decades, Texas Instruments and the TI Foundation have invested in programs that aim to dismantle racial barriers and make the North Texas community where TI is headquartered more just and equitable. One of the hallmarks of these investments has been multi-year grants for school districts where STEM learning needs are significant, yet opportunities are low. In this session, attendees will hear about TI’s role in cross-sector community partnerships that have helped to transform entire school districts into STEM districts, as well as key lessons learned for others looking to leverage these powerful partnerships.
Andy Smith, Director, TI Giving and Volunteering and Executive Director, TI Foundation, Texas Instruments Incorporated
Reo Pruiett, Ed.D., Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer, Communities Foundation of Texas

Demonstrating Value through Measurement
Demonstrating Value Through Measurement
MONDAY, MAY 1 | 10:45 - 11:45 AM
To ensure corporate citizenship is most effective, there needs to be a way to identify the outcomes and impacts your company seeks to demonstrate for your communities and the business. This requires determining what you hope to achieve and then developing metrics that help you demonstrate the value. The Logic Model is a tool used by businesses and nonprofits that accounts for this social and business impact and helps practitioners design, measure, and communicate about their programs. In this hands-on workshop, you will be introduced to the logic model and how to apply it to your corporate citizenship programs to show impact.

Demystifying Scope 3
Demystifying Scope 3: How to measure, report on, and reduce emissions throughout the value chain
MONDAY, MAY 1 | 10:45 - 11:45 AM
As we work collectively to mitigate the effects of climate change, companies have worked to decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while they increase measurements and communications (both qualitatively and quantitatively) regarding those emissions. While a great deal of progress has been made in reporting on Scope 1 and 2 emissions, transparency regarding Scope 3 emissions—those that occur across the value chain—has remained a more elusive goal. Tracking down the relevant information for those companies with complex supply chains is an intensive task. In this session, hear from companies who have made inroads into their own multifaceted value chains to report and act on Scope 3 emission data.

Rethink Resilience

Rethink Resilience
MONDAY, MAY 1 | 10:45 - 11:45 AM
Many of the changes confronting us as a global society are playing out in ESG arenas. With intensified expectations of performance disclosure in ESG—and emerging regulations—there is an undercurrent of sentiment that ESG has become purely a compliance matter that should focus on financial materiality. Double materiality can increase resilience by helping you to monitor ESG matters that are not hitting the bottom line—yet. In this session, experts will help you shift your perspective: moving beyond necessary compliance and a proven ability to survive to a broader consideration of material issues that includes ambitions to create better, more sustainable, and more inclusive progress.
