The power of mobility for all
People living with disabilities are among the more challenging demographics to support with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, as differences in ability are visible and invisible, and run across race, gender, age, sexual orientation, and many other identities. And yet, one billion people, or 15% of the world’s population, experience some form of disability. Potential employees with disabilities often face recruitment barriers when seeking a job, in addition to accessibility challenges once in the workplace, which results in persistent underrepresentation and underemployment. In this article, we will explore how Toyota is taking advantage of a talent innovation gap by working to be more inclusive of employees and customers living with disabilities.
