There are very real connections between the stability and vibrancy of our future and how we cultivate STEM competencies in students. Increasingly, companies have been leveraging their unique resources—including the passion and expertise of their employees—to encourage learning and develop the workforce of tomorrow. In this session, you will hear why education remains the highest giving and volunteerism investment for Texas Instruments (TI), and how funded programs enhance STEM effectiveness among teachers; result in improvement among students in STEM subjects; and engage employees in volunteerism. You’ll also hear firsthand how TI collaborates with community partners such as Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas to give girls the self-assurance and skills they need to succeed in STEM, and in robotics competitions, which are proven to significantly boost student interest and understanding of STEM. Rich with insights from experts from both the public and private sector, this session will serve as inspiration for and a practical example of how a company can better its communities while investing in its talent pipeline.
